The Challenge
Xerox Litigation Services had experienced extremely rapid growth over the last 4 years. In an attempt to keep up with customer demand and to ensure that their hosted applications stayed up and running, they had been continuing to add servers and storage and were faced with running out of room in their data center. Extra space was needed, and fast.

How would TAG Solutions disassemble and transport over 300 servers and storage arrays to a new, remote data center without disrupting applications and the associated customer service level agreements?

The Solution
The success of the project would depend upon the quality of the pre-project planning and the effective scheduling of technical resources and equipment. TAG Solutions broke the project into 3 distinct phases, each of which had to be completed within 3 weeks of notification. Each phase required teams of 12 engineers to work straight through weekends installing the requisite infrastructure, cabling and racking to accommodate the tight deadlines. To make certain that there were no service interruptions, TAG Solutions implemented a remote management solution and provided the switching and security infrastructure to support the new network.

The Return
Xerox Litigation Services now enjoys the reliability of a true data center environment, including redundant telecom facilities entrances, two levels of power protection and biometric security access. The performance and security enhancements were not only made possible by moving their systems to a better environment,the properly planned and executed 3-phase project resulted in no downtime or loss of any critical hosted applications or customer service.

Most importantly, Xerox was able to focus their technical resources on their core business – application development – while TAG Solutions managed this complicated migration.
