The Challenge
Matthew Bender, a legal research and analysis company owned by LexisNexis™ needed to quickly and seamlessly upgrade their voice and data networks to accommodate unprecedented growth. All told, more than 3,000 communications cable drops needed to be installed and tested and the work needed to be coordinated among two other vendors – within a matter of weeks. The issue -- None of the changes could in any way impact the company’s 24x7 operations. Bender’s work doesn’t stop at night – it just slows down a little.
The Solution
The entire facility needed to be re-cabled while the current systems remained in operation. Prior to any second-shift installers arriving on site, TAG Solutions engineers developed a detailed project implementation plan that concentrated work in specific areas each evening, and left ample room for fallback. Working with Matthew Bender’s facilities team, TAG carefully mapped out each run and then scheduled all cable installation and testing to correspond with the phone vendor’s phased cutover schedule.
The Return
The direct and early involvement of TAG Solutions project managers and engineers with Matthew Bender’s team and other vendors guaranteed each segment of the network was constructed, tested and certified prior to live cutover. TAG Solutions’ attention to detail and strict adherence to industry standards and practices resulted in flawless interconnection of Matthew Bender’s voice and IT systems during off-hours – while their business operations continued uninterrupted.
